GENERAL

Is training at Move to Live for you?

Who is Move to Live for?

Anyone over the age of 15 can train at Move to Live in a fun and judgment-free setting, regardless of fitness level, age, and abilities. Our instructors are very approachable so please talk to them about any injury concerns and your training objectives.

Can I still train if I am out of shape?

Our classes are suitable for complete beginners. If you’re not sure or feeling anxious about starting a new training program, feel free to drop in for a guided tour of the gym. You’re welcome to observe a class to get an idea of what it is like.

I have an injury or medical issue, can I still train?

Our training program is accessible and safe for the large majority of people. Our instructors can scale or substitute exercises based on your specific concerns. However, if you have a condition that may affect your ability to train, we recommend that you check with your doctor first.

Why are all classes barefoot?

Shoes provide support and stability, but over time act like crutches. Prolonged disuse of your stabilising muscles weakens your feet and ankles, but more importantly, changes the position and movement of your knees and hip. In essence, you become more prone to injury. Barefoot training strengthens these stabilising muscles which helps improve balance and posture.

You are welcome to wear pilates socks (i.e. grip socks) during classes.

What do I need to bring?

We recommend comfortable athletic clothing. Footwear is not required as all our classes are conducted barefoot.

All training equipment (boxing gloves, pads, yoga mats, blocks, etc.*) and use of our showers, lockers**, towel service, and bathroom amenities are provided complimentary.

*For hygiene purposes, please bring your own hand wraps for Muay Thai or approach our front desk staff to purchase for $12.

**Lockers are only to be used while you are attending a class and should not be used overnight.

How do I get to the studio?

If you are commuting by MRT, we are a short walk from the Circle Line (One North, Buona Vista) or East-West Line (Commonwealth, Buona Vista).

Which car park do you recommend?

There is parking conveniently located in our building (Neuros), the entrance is on the left at the end of Biomedical Grove. However we recommend parking nearby at Proteos in B3, entrance on Biopolis Link. Only 60 cents per half hour and free after 5.01pm on weekdays and all weekend and public holidays (subject to change).

TRIALS

Who is eligible for a trial?

We encourage prospective members to try our classes to ensure our studio and instructors are the right fit for you. Our trial offers are available for first-timers who are above 15 years. If you have attended any of our classes previously (eg. either through a trial, a previous membership, or ClassPass*), consider our memberships or drop-in option.

*Please note that trials are non-refundable.

Does my trial auto-renew or convert into a membership?

No. If you wish to continue training with us after the end of your trial, you must purchase either a class package or a membership.

When does the trial start?

The trial starts on the date of your first class. Once you book your first class, the expiry date of your trial will reset to the new period.  If you face any issues, just drop us a WhatsApp message.

*trial must start within 30 days of purchase

Is there a late cancellation charge or any other booking restrictions?

To ensure all our members have fair and equitable access to attend classes, there is a late cancellation charge. Similarly, there is a limit of one booking per day for all trials (additional classes can be booked for $25 per class).

Please refer to our Booking Classes FAQs for more information.

MEMBERSHIPS

Learn about the various membership options we offer

What type of packages do you offer?

Our Membership Plans are generally the best value if you intend to train regularly – we have options if you want to train once a week or every day. Membership plans auto-renew every 4 weeks and can be cancelled at any time with 2 weeks’ notice before your next billing date.

If you want to use Move to Live to supplement other training you do, or you want greater flexibility, then our Class Packages may be a better option for you. Our class packages are shareable with up to 4 people and valid for 2, 3 or 6 months (depending on the package size) from your first class. When you purchase a new package within 30 days of expiry, all expired passes are rolled over into that new package.

How can I share my Class Package with friends?

There’s nothing more fun than training with friends. All class packages are shareable with up to 4 people.

Shared packages will only appear in your account, but your friends will be able to book using their own account with a pass deducted from your package. This “group” will be fixed for the duration of your package.

(Only our Class Packages are shareable. Membership plans are not shareable)

What if I don’t use all my classes under my membership plan?

We have created the most flexible membership plan possible. All unused classes will roll over to the next month when you are on an active membership plan.

If you decide to downgrade your membership plan, you can roll over up to the number of classes in your new plan. If you decide to cancel your membership, all classes will expire on the last day of your membership.

What if I run out of classes during the month?

Good news, you can continue to book more classes during the month for only $25 per class. There is no need to change your membership plan.

Can I pause my membership?

Pausing is unnecessary in most cases since our memberships can be cancelled at any time, and unused passes roll over.  However, if you need to take a break for any reason, you can pause your membership for up to 1 month (min. 7 days) with a suspension fee of $25. Please cancel any existing bookings to ensure there are no late cancellation charges.

While paused, you are unable to book and attend classes.

Please note, memberships will resume at the current joining rate.

How do I cancel my membership?

Simply drop us an email at info@movetolive.sg. Please note there is a 2 week notice period for all membership cancellations.

BOOKING CLASSES

Learn more about booking and cancelling classes

How do I book (and cancel) classes?

All classes can be booked and cancelled via our website or using the Mindbody app.

The booking window opens 7 days before each class at midnight. Please be courtesy to other members and refrain from reserving multiple classes in a day (“Fair Play Policy”). If there is a waitlist for any class, we will release your spot to another member.

What is your late cancellation policy?

Similar to most fitness studios, we need to ensure there is space for all members. However, it’s not our business model to make money when your plans have changed so to give as you much flexibility as possible, the late cancellation policy is only 2 hours for all classes.

A “late cancellation” fee of $15 and “no show” fee of $20 will be charged to unlimited members and trials. For all everyone else, one pass will be forfeited as a result of a late cancellation or “no show”.

To help ensure fair use of the waitlist, members must remove their names from the waitlist if they do not wish to attend. It will be considered a late cancellation if they are absent from a class that they get bumped up into.

What if I show up late for the class?

For your own safety and to minimise disruption to the class, please be punctual. If you arrive 5 minutes after the start time, you may not be allowed to attend the class.
